Scholarship Program
The General Assembly Scholarship Program is administered in accordance with the provisions of Section 5/30-9 of the School Code of Illinois. Senator Brady awards Illinois General Assembly Scholarships to students who have been active in public and civic affairs and who have need of scholarship assistance. The awards are applicable at the following Illinois state universities:
  • Illinois State University
  • Chicago State University
  • Northern Illinois University
  • Western Illinois University
  • Eastern Illinois University
  • Governor State University
  • Southern Illinois University, Carbondale
  • Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville
  • Northeastern Illinois University
  • University of Illinois, Springfield
  • University of Illinois, Chicago
  • University of Illinois, Urbana - Champaign
  • University of Illinois, School of Medicine
  • Southern Illinois University School of Medicine

Eight one-year tuition waivers – for fall 2010, spring 2011 and summer 2011 – are available to students who will be attending state universities, with three specifically designated for nursing, agriculture, and a veteran or the child of a veteran.

A panel of community and education leaders will evaluate applications and select scholarship recipients. Senator Brady will not be involved in the decision-making process.

Students are encouraged to download the application, fill it out completely and mail it to Senator Brady’s office, 2203 Eastland Drive, Suite 3, Bloomington, IL 61704 (309/664-4440).

DEADLINE

Applications must be received in the Senator's office by Monday, March 1, 2010. Notification of scholarship awards will be made in the summer of 2010.
